2018 Ram 1500 vs 2018 Chevrolet Silverado near Baker City, OR

Have you narrowed down your search for the perfect pickup truck? If you have, you've probably chosen the Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado as your final two. While the Silverado has simply worked on improving its engine for the 2018 year, the Ram 1500 has worked to upgrade both its entertainment and its safety features. If you would like to learn more about how these two trucks compare, then read on.

2018 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

The 1500 is a completely customizable truck perfect for any task, whether that be a simple work truck, a street style flare, an off-roading machine, or even a luxury vehicle ready for when you need it. This Ram comes with multiple package options for added features and takes the lead in safety with an all-new Sirius Guardian system.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

The Silverado offers five fewer trims to choose from with each building off the previous model, rather than being an independent model with distinction. For example, if you want off-roading, you can't just simply grab the off-roading trim, you have to add the Z71 package, available only to the LT and LTZ trims. Multiple packages may be necessary to find the perfect model.

2018 Ram 1500 Features & Design

The Ram comes with three engine options. All engines are able to choose either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A six-speed automatic is also available. For fuel economy, the Ram is top notch at 29 miles per gallon.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

The Silverado comes with three engine options. Each engine chooses two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and comes with a six-speed automatic. An option is available for the eight-speed automatic as well though. Fuel economy tops out at 23 miles per gallon on the Silverado with any engine.

Conclusions

In the end, I think the Silverado is struggling in the dust of the Ram 1500. The Ram takes a strong lead over the Chevy with multiple options, customizations, fuel economy, and even cost.
