Under the Charger's Hood
The 2017 Dodge Charger comes with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The SE and SXT can also have AWD, and are run by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides them with 292 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 23 mpg, with 19 city/30 highway on the rear-wheel drive. For the AWD option, the fuel economy is 21 mpg, with 18 city/27 highway. The additional trims only improve from there - the R/T and Daytona are equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine that brings their horsepower up to 370, and gives them 395 lb-ft of torque. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg combined. The 392 trim levels and R/T Scat Pack come with a 6.4-liter V8 engine that boosts the hp to 485 and the lb-ft of torque to 475. The estimated fuel economy is combined at 18 mpg. The Hellcat is home to a 6.2-liter V8 that produces a 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, and has a combined fuel economy of 16 mpg, 13 city/22 highway. This sets the Charger apart from competitors dramatically.

The 2017 Dodge Charger is available in 8 trims, 13 exterior colors (including four new options), and 5 interior colors. It is a full-size four-door sedan, and is one of the only of its kind. The trims include: SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat. The SE model is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone manual climate control, a 60/40-split folding backseat, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen. Additional models add more features such as LED foglamps, increasingly updated brakes, auto-dimming mirrors, spoilers, 8.4-inch Uconnect, upgraded upholstery, and upgraded sound systems, including a 10-speaker BeatsAudio sound system or 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. In addition to these features, the 2017 model year Dodge Charger is remarkably spacious.
